Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love sharing the new books that we add to the library with the students. Sometimes, they instantly gravitate to a specific title, and other times, it isn't until we've explored the books together that they show an interest.
This school year, as we've been exploring books, I've noticed that the older students are more intrigued by the fiction and nonfiction picture books.
This project includes picture books that are on the Best of 2023 lists. Among the books are Spanish is the Language of My Family, and Martina Has Too Many Tías. The majority of the students I work with are Latino and they love being able to connect to books. I think these two books will be a great addition to our library collection.
