In our school, many students absolutely LOVE music class and aspire to pursue music in high school and college. Goals like this require a strong foundation to build upon. However, in the piano studio, we lack supplies to teach correct technique as many students can't even reach the keys.
Our students are rock stars - or at least they dream of being one someday.
They glitter and beam when walking into the music room. They get so excited when they walk into school and it is their day to come to music. They are absolute joys to teach! Our performing arts K-8 school brings students together from all walks of life, across the entire county, for one thing - the arts! Teachers here are given the awesome opportunity to guide our students through the skills and mind set needed to reach their lofty "rock star" goals. However, we cannot give the students all they need and deserve without adequate tools.
My Project
My students need 3 piano benches to sit on when playing piano. Every learning opportunity should be set up so the student is given every possible chance to succeed, and hopefully, through numerous successful experiences, learn to be motivated internally to strive, learn, and achieve. This becomes tough when adequate supplies are not accessible. In our piano studio, many students can not reach the keys or the pedal and are consequently learning bad piano technique and form; this is not set up for success. We desperately need 3 piano benches so we can learn proper posture, technique, and skills and create sturdy building blocks to grow upon.
Our students see the stars and want them!
They have the passion and the drive to get there. Please help us get the supplies and tools needed to take them there. These piano benches will impact students as young as grade 2 and as old as grade 8 for many, many years to come. Please give to our project, you never know if the child in front of you could be the next Mozart. Let's treat them all like the prodigies they could be. Please help us "get benched." Thank you!
