My students need a mobile book organizer to separate AR leveled books, making accessible books easy to browse through and select.
This project expired on August 23, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
In my classroom library, my students access the lives of Jane Goodall, Martin Luther King, Lucille Ball, and Sacagawea. They pair read Mo Willems' engaging stories and explore tales of friendship, fantasy, mystery, and science.
At our creation station, students utilize elementary physics and geometry to design and build tactile collaborative projects with wood, paper, magnets, and interlocking shapes.
Join us as I play the ukulele and we sing our class song:
You can count on me like 1, 2, 3, I'll be there. And I know when I need it I can count on you like 4, 3, 2 and you'll be there cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah.
Since December, our second grade class has recorded 420,000+ words read on AR. With a 4-year span in student reading levels, it is important to have a range of options that meet students where they are, while developing their literacy. Starting from scratch this year, I've invested in a comprehensive classroom library of over 1,200 books.
The next step is making the library user friendly by organizing and showcasing the books for students.
By investing in a Classic Birch Mobile Book Organizer, you can help my students engage with compelling literature at every level. Each of the 8 slots will correlate to a half-year AR reading range and the accompanying color-coded stickers will label the library books.
