Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Learning about ourselves and others can be very exciting and educational.
Next year will be my second year in third grade.
I will be teaching two classes with a total of around 40 students. Although I have not met my new group of students, I am sure that they will be interested in learning more about themselves. I want to put the books on the shelf by the "Safe Place." I know the students will read the books as soon as they see them!
My Project
I am asking for 19 books that focus on diversity. I tried to find a selection of mainly nonfiction books that will teach my students more about their background and others' backgrounds as well. These books will provide the students with a chance to learn more about successful people from many cultures. I hope these books inspire my students to "reach for the stars."
Educating our children on diversity is very important for the future of the United States.
Some of these children will grow up to be leaders of our nation. The more they know about other cultures, the more influential they will be. By supporting this project you will educate students to learn more about their cultures and others as well.
