This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
In my classroom, there are 24 amazing Kindergarten students, who show a love and passion to learn. These students are in high poverty and do not have many resources to help support their learning. For many students in my classroom, Kindergarten is the first time in school or daycare. Each student is unique and as a classroom community of learners we embrace each other's differences. We set high expectations and help each other achieve those expectations.
These students come to school everyday with new stories and challenges they are facing at home, but regardless they have a smile on their face and are eager to learn.
My Project
The materials chosen for this project will give students an opportunity to learn through being creative. With these materials, students will be able to explore the creative process from day to day. Students will use these classroom materials in their independent centers to enhance their learning as well as create projects to share with the class.
Every student learns differently but yet has a genius inside of them.
These materials will help bring out the genius in each student. From painting, coloring, to stamping sight words and building with magnetic tiles, each student will be able to engage in an activity that will enhance their learning.
