My Students

My students are from all over the world and speak many languages. They are differently abled, brilliant, from privileged and not so privileged homes, are curious, and are filled with knowledge. They are accepting, loving and hopeful. They are curious 5- and 6-year-olds who have lots of energy and curiosity. Some love to read about vehicles or animals while others prefer fairy tales or planets.

A leveled library allows students to pick books on their level that they are interested in!

When kids can pick what they read, they are excited and motivated to practice this important skill! That's why we need kindergarten level books for our leveled classroom library!

My Project

My students need books on their level to read during independent reading time. If a book is too hard, students may become frustrated and if it's too easy, they may become bored. We need books at the first four beginning levels that students can read when they are starting their journey as readers.

When students have books at their level, they are motivated to read and improve their Reading skills, comprehension and confidence!

My students arrive each day excited to read and I know having these "just right" books will make a huge difference in their lives. These books will benefit my group this year and for many years to come.
