My Project

Our school is located in the rural south. Most of our students are African-American, and many would be considered at-risk for one reason or another. My students work hard to do their best every day and to learn and grow. Many of our students live in dire poverty. As a result, learning is not always the biggest issue in their lives.

For many of my students, it is hard for their families to provide the basic materials they need for class.

Since most of my children come from impoverished backgrounds, it is understandable that this can happen. In some cases, their parents have to choose between buy school supplies and putting food on the table. Because of this, we need help to make sure these students have the items they need on a daily basis.

As we now return to full capacity in our classrooms, we are finding that many things that worked before the pandemic now do not. This has been very true for our electronics. Since our students do all of their work online, this is really creating an issue.

We are in great need of replacements. Our special needs students normally use these computer because they need something that will allow them to save more notes. In some cases, these are even taken home by these students in order for them to study and practice.

I know this project is very expensive. At the same time, it will truly change the lives of these students. Since all of our students have been removed from a general school setting, it is critical that we get them back on track. Please provide these basics for our special needs population.
