This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students walk into our classroom every morning with so much life. Each of my children brings a different quality into our classroom. They all have their own personalities, abilities and eagerness to learn. They come to life every morning just like the characters from their favorite books.

One aspect that my students all have in common is their passion for reading.

I have a variety of reading levels in my classroom, and I want to be able to reach them all.

First grade is the foundation in every child's education. I want for my seventeen students to leave our room with an eagerness to obtain more knowledge.

My Project

This project will help provide headphones for the new tablets that I recently purchased for my students. We have shiny new tablets, but we do not have headphones that properly work with them.

With the collection of books, my students will also be able to read about the character trait of kindness.

The books will be added to our classroom library and read during our month of kindness.

Our classroom theme is Bees which is why I titled this project Bee Kind. There are many character traits to choose from, but the most important is to be kind. We would utilize our books to create a class project on ways to show kindness. We could encourage our school to do a grade-wide character trait study with a colorful school-wide project at the end.
