This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are 29 of the most fun, enthusiastic, and bright first graders I have ever had the privilege of teaching! My class is primarily made up of English Language Learners, and my Title I school is a place of boundless energy dedicated to every young scholar, even though we are 100% virtual. My class consists of all levels of learners, from high achieving GATE students to those just learning the complexities of the English language, and everything in between.

My students inspire me every day!

Despite many hardships, my first graders approach their learning online with smiles on their faces and happy hearts, ready and eager to take on the day. My students learn not only from me but from each other, always ready for the next adventure!

My Project

National Board Certification in Literacy Language Arts is my passion! I am continually working on becoming a better educator.

I want my first graders to grow to love reading!

I have completed three out of four required components in my quest to become National Board Certified in Literacy-Language Arts. My final component focuses on identifying and addressing a professional learning need for myself and a learning need for my students. I will collaborate with my grade-level team as well as my administrators and my students' parents to achieve this goal!
