My Students

My class is ecstatic about learning! They consistently desire to dive deeper into the topics we study, and cannot get enough. They have vibrant personalities, are inquisitive, and are always looking to learn a new skill in order to help someone else.

This group is the epitome of kindness and cooperation.

I have never taught a group of kids that, collectively, are incredibly willing to sacrifice for one another and go out of their way to make someone else feel taken care of. When given additional opportunities to excel, this group embraces them and does it as a team.

My Project

This project will allow my students to write and illustrate their own books! We spend a great deal of time learning to grow as writers. These books will give their writing a published feel. They will take extra pride in their work. This will give my students the opportunity to learn about what an author needs to do to write a book. Illustrating their own book will make it a special keepsake. Sending this book home increases parent involvement as students share their learning with their families.

Books are magical, they can take you anywhere, make you someone else, even give you superpowers!

This will motivate my students in so many ways! They will be able to use their imaginations, use the skills they have learned in a real world way, and have fun working on something they can take home and have forever. This will make all of their hard work and struggles worthwhile.

We have many narrative and nonfiction writing units in the year. Students can write about so many topics: their lives, animals, science, math topics/financial literacy, pets, geography. The possibilities are endless!
