This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students come from a variety of backgrounds and love to try new things. In our Landscaping Creative Expression classes, the students have the opportunity to beautify the school.
They are learning to build benches, flower beds, and outdoor tables and you will often see them outside of the building pruning trees or planting shrubs.
This class is in high demand and the students are putting all of the skills they are learning to good use. This is the type of class that the students don't like to see end each day, they always say that it goes by too quickly. Not only are we trying to give them lessons for the day, we are providing skills to help them throughout their lifetime.
My Project
Our school has a large outdoor space and we would love for it to be an inviting space for students and visitors. We are seeking funds to add and replace shrubbery in the front of the school to give it a warmer feel and pleasant look.
The donations received will be used to help provide the school with more curb appeal and give the students the opportunity to learn how to do beginner landscaping through planting and maintaining the shrubbery.
The shrubbery requested are evergreens that will continue to grow for years and give our school the warm, inviting look it deserves. It will go well as we continue to build on to this project with flowers and other items.
