My Project

Open ended centers time in Kindergarten is one of our favorite times of day. Children learn about content areas daily through read aloud and conversations. Students then have the time to show their understanding in a variety of ways. This is the time when kindergarteners get the opportunity to explore materials and create freely to show their understanding in the way that makes the most sense to them.

Children have real understanding only of what which they invent themselves-Jean Piaget These materials will help children express themselves creatively in kindergarten.

Some of my kindergarten children are still not confident in sharing thinking and understanding verbally, for fear of answering incorrectly or not knowing the exact answer. Many kindergarteners have not developed a growth mindset, YET. These materials will support children as they learn to develop a growth mindset and show their thinking in a way they are invested in and proud of.
