We are from a small town in North Carolina. My third graders love learning! They are very anxious to learn and love hands on learning! We spend 1 hour and 30 minutes on Reading on a daily basis. They are becoming great readers and developing a deeper understanding of what they read through whole group and small group literacy instruction.
These students are intrinsically motivated.
They seek out ways to master standards and feel such success when they learn a new concept! They always cheer for each other when students meet their personal goals.
Organization is key to a successful school year. My goal is to create binders to organize my reading resources. In these binders, I will place read aloud texts, graphic organizers, question stems, and any activities needed to teach each standard. This will allow me to focus on specific activities and organize them in binders based on each literacy standard.
I will be able to manage and maintain organization of materials which will allow me to give additional support to my students.
Gathering and organizing resources will help my students obtain mastery of their literacy standards. This will, in turn, allow them to have more ownership in their learning.
