Parents are now able to see their children better than ever, and we are also able to use the risers for our graduation ceremonies and other school events! \r\n\r\nOur students have described them as fun and comfortable, and I am so blessed to have such a tremendous support system in my corner! Your donations are a testament to the potential the Music Program at E.M. Since 2020, I have noticed a significant increase in children bringing reusable water bottles to school. As you can imagine, it isn't easy to refill them at school in the usual elementary school water fountains. Some kids were bringing plastic bottles from home to refill their reusable bottles. Our new refill station fills any bottle with chilled, filtered water! \r\n\r\nAccording to the counter on the refill station, we have already saved almost 1,700 disposable bottles from the landfill. I am excited to incorporate this information into my unit on environmental impacts and the small changes we can implement as a school that make an impact in our school, community, and world.","fullyFundedDate":1743003947543,"projectUrl":"project/reduce-and-reuse/9178269/","projectTitle":"Reduce AND Reuse!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cranford","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1082460_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y786&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1730488067812","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/fishingforagoodbook"},{"teacherId":5264293,"projectId":8942962,"letterContent":"Thank you so much again for supporting our school's project for our Outdoor Learning Environment and nature playground. We had a ribbon cutting for our new space last week and many students, families, and community members/leaders were able to attend. Our 4 new garden beds welcomed the crowd, already filled with soil and plants at the entrance to the playground. Once the ribbon was cut, students were playing tic tac toe on the ground together, giggling over Connect 4 rematches, and walking around in awe of the new space. A large chalkboard wall has been added to the outside of our gym for students to create with the chalk you provided. Once the event was over, our new storage cabinet housed materials until the next round of play can begin. \r\n\r\nWe are awaiting final permissions to share the space with our full classes during the day, but this is happening very soon. Our amazing PTA has already begun phase 2 fundraising to add even more incredible resources to this space in future years. Our students are SO excited for these new opportunities for play! They will have new ways to engage with nature, expand their creativity, and cooperate with one another. The ribbon cutting was this past weekend and the students who attended were fascinated! This space accentuates and supports imagination AND large motor skills.
