My Project

My students love learning and do their best with hands-on, real-life situations. By raising butterflies from larva, they will be able to witness an incredible part of the butterfly's life cycle. Students will observe, read and write about the life cycles of the butterflies. Then, they will compare to other plants and animals and recognize differences and common similarities.

Raising butterflies is a way for my students to connect with nature and practice patience.

Students will be able to let the butterflies go into nature and be able to feel like they have helped and contributed to nature by doing so. This will be a fun project for my fourth graders to participate in.
