My Students
My language learners bring joy, wonder and excitement to our classroom. My elementary students are acquiring English as their second language (sometimes it is their third, fourth or fifth!) They never stop working hard to learn and are always teaching me something new.
These young learners bring magic to reading, writing, speaking and listening.
We learn to honor our similarities, differences, strength and weaknesses to build a learning community that soars.
My Project
Ask almost any reader what they love about reading and most likely they will describe the beauty of a book and exactly how it feels in their hands. As my students learn English as an additional language, we will be virtual and with limited resources, that means they might not get to learn to read with a book in their hand. Books, in print, will allow students to navigate at their own pace and away from a screen.
My language learners deserve the full experience of falling in love with a book.
