My Project

My learning support Algebra 1B classes serve students who need additional scaffolding and individualized attention to build confidence and mastery in mathematics. Right now, our classroom setup is static and traditional. Students sit in fixed rows facing forward, which can increase anxiety and limit collaboration. By investing in a kidney bean-shaped table and wobble stools we're creating a flexible, movement-friendly space where students can thrive. The bean-shaped table naturally accommodates small group work, allowing me to rotate students through collaborative problem-solving sessions where they can discuss strategies, peer-teach, and build mathematical reasoning together. The wobble stools address another need, which is that many of my students struggle with focus and attention, and research shows that movement and sensory input help improve concentration. These stools allow students to engage their bodies while their minds work through complex algebraic concepts.

Having the ability to create a flexible learning environment with the kidney bean table and wobble stools would allow me create a learning environment that is more conducive to learning.

The paper cutter is equally essential to our mission. I typically create customized, differentiated materials and visuals tailored to each student's level. A reliable paper cutter allows me to quickly prepare professional-quality materials that students take seriously, rather than hand-torn or photocopied pages that can feel less polished. Combined with the flexible seating arrangement, these tools transform our classroom into a space where students feel supported, can move and collaborate naturally, and access the targeted resources they need to build Algebra 1B skills and confidence.

With your donation, you're directly investing in student success and emotional well-being. These are more than just furniture items, they're tools that show our most vulnerable learners that their success matters. Thank you for supporting an equitable and inclusive math education for my students!
