My Students

My students are a self contained classroom of 5 EBD ESE students. These students have trouble with emotions and maintaining focus in the classroom. The school is a Title 1 school with 76% Free and Reduced Lunch, but earned an "A" rating from the Florida Department of education.

My goal is to create a comfortable environment, in which each student wants to come and learn each day.

Showing them that learning can and will be fun is my daily goal.

My Project

In creating a classroom that is comfortable and inviting for the students to learn, I believe they will be able to accomplish their academic goals. With this project, I am allowing each student to have a bean bag chair that they will be responsible for taking care of and a place they can take time to relax and complete work. I believe keeping the students relaxed will reduce the amount of behavior issues I will have in the classroom. These chairs will also be something they can take with them when they go to social skills class, and also move around the room so they feel as though they are in control of their learning environment.
