This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 3rd graders attend school in a low-income, diverse, and urban environment. As a bilingual school, we have a large ELL population and with this year's recent school closing from March to June, I anticipate having many students who are behind on grade-level standards and will need extra support and interventions this upcoming school year.
My students amaze me with their ability to persevere and work hard, no matter the circumstances.
Even though distance learning this past spring, our students were brave, resilient, and independent. I know how excited and grateful our kids are to return to school after over 5 months of isolation and to finally reunite with their teachers, peers, and classrooms. Despite the challenges they may face outside of school, my students will still come to school with a smile and a love of learning.
As the year goes on, I want my students to always feel comfortable, motivated, and challenged to strive to do their best. These students have big dreams for their future and my goal is to always give them the resources to make them believe that they can achieve all of them.
My Project
As we return back to school in person, the use of hand soap, sanitizer, and various cleaning supplies that will help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
My students will be able to use these supplies every day to keep them healthy and happy.
Students need these supplies not only to kill germs but to also give students peace of mind in the classroom. My 3rd graders are mature enough to understand how this pandemic has affected the world. By having an abundance of supplies and giving students the opportunity to sanitize and disinfect throughout the day, I know that my students will feel more comfortable in the classroom. The cleaning and sanitation supplies will continue to promote a safe and healthy environment for my students throughout our school year.
