My Project

I would like to create some Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons for my class to teach them about compassion and emotional wellness. This will include teaching them diversity, accepting others' differences, and learning how to manage our own emotions and feelings.

The materials that I am requesting for this project include SEL books for my students to read, games for them to play together, and different tools to use so that they can understand one another better and see the world through each other's eyes.

In learning how their classmates and people around them are different and unique, my students will be able to collaborate more readily and support one another in their learning.

I will measure the success of my students' understanding of compassion with this project by having class discussions on empathy. We will practice with hypothetical scenarios to see how students would react in different situations with diverse groups.
