We are a 90-90- working on the last 90 schools. 99% of our students are the minority. 90% of our students are considered "at-risk" due to family income, home life, and their environment. However, the 90% that we are currently lacking is 90% proficiency. Every day, we struggle as adults to break the stigma that is associated with success and achievement in our community. For many of our students, there is so much going on outside of school that outweighs what we are doing in school.
During this pandemic, it is so important to provide our students with safe outlets where they can interact with others and succeed in a non-academic setting.
Extracurricular activities, though they must be done with caution, are vitally important to youth during this pandemic.
Any good football team will tell you that an integral part of their game preparation is watching film of their games. Watching film can assist athletes in evaluating the areas that need more work as well as the areas that are being executed well.
Watching film is not just limited to football teams and football coaches.
Cheerleaders and track athletes can utilize film study to improve performances on the sidelines as well as on the track and field. Many of today's youth are visual learners, meaning that they need to see for themselves what needs to be improved or to see visual representations of what the coach is saying.
This project will provide the technology necessary for our other athletic teams to be able to watch film, regardless of location, being that a projector is portable and the wifi capability allows us to connect wirelessly.
