Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are motivated and eager to learn. After not being in a classroom for more than a year, my students are so excited to be in school. They enjoy being read to, and after they have heard books read to them, they enjoy reading them on their own. They have a wonderful knack for connecting personal experiences with the literature they have read. They are learning a second language and developing their vocabulary everyday. My end in mind is to develop a love of reading that will take my students on great adventures throughout their lives.
I teach twenty-four, first-grade, second language learners who are living in a low-income community in Los Angeles.
Our school is a Title I school with students from preschool to fifth grade. At our school, we strive to instill the idea in our students that they are thinkers, leaders, and change-makers. We are the first Leader in Me school in our area, and we are very proud to be developing our future Leaders, Thinkers and Change Makers!
My Project
We are so excited to be back at school. My students are working so hard because they are excited to be back in the class. We are in need of school supplies that get used all year.
I am asking for paper, pencils, and a power cord for our computer.
My students need classwork, homework, and parent letters. The paper would help us out with that need. Our power cord needs help, so I am asking for one. By helping us with this project you will be helping us with some basic needs in our classroom.
