22 different faces, names, and stories walk into my classroom each weekday. It is an honor to be involved in each of their journeys. My second graders are energetic and inquisitive. We do hands-on activities and spend little time at our desks if I can help it. The favorite activities in our room are anything that I can make a game--math fact war and predator vs. prey (food chain game) are on their most requested list.
It is easy to care about the lives and futures of my students, as I get to see the spark in their eyes when they get it.
I ask my students to dream big, take risks, and never give up! I am hoping to make an impact that they will take with them everywhere they go in life. I want them to love to learn and to read, as these are keys to delving into each other area of interest.
Supporting the children in my class will mean that they will have access to a learning environment that is tailored to their success. Sincere thanks for your interest and time!
My Project
It is my responsibility to provide students with what they need in a safe and healthy classroom--Kleenex is a necessity each and every day. Post-its, felt-tip pens, and black pens will give my students enough supplies to finish out the year's Lucy Calkins Writing Units of Study...the students love writing workshop! The Velcro dots, sharpies, and laminating pouches will enable me to present dynamic instructional materials that stand the test of time and are more functional.
Each day in class is an opportunity to capture the imagination of a student with preparation and passion!
It is my duty to ask for what my students and classroom need most to function smoothly day-to-day. Each item requested is a blessing to my scholars.
