I am currently a beginning teacher in a very difficult neighborhood. All of my students receive free lunches. This community is a very high need area where many of my students' face challenges that most could not fathom. There are many acts of violence that my students are exposed to on a daily basis.

My classroom lacks the basic supplies to create a nurturing and engaging environment. My students do not bring the basis supplies, such as pencils, crayons and glue to school. It is unfair that my students have to be at school without the supplies that are necessary to learn.

These basic supplies will allow my students to engage in daily activities without worrying about coming to school without them. It will also help me to organize my classroom and create an environment that is filled with items that my students' do not get to use at home.

Your help will ensure that my students will have the basic supplies in a classroom. These supplies will alleviate the stress on the students and parents and ensure that the students are at school, ready to learn! The supplies will be used to build community and environment of sharing.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
