I am a second grade teacher at a diverse public school on the south side in the city of Milwaukee. We are a K-8 school that is committed to helping students learn through the use of engaging academics provided by excited teachers who are inspired daily from the students that we encounter.
The diversity of our school population is our greatest asset and we love learning and growing from one another.
Many of my students come from working class families who do the best that they can for their children but this time of year money can be tight. Shopping for school supplies is only for the beginning of the year for most of my families.
Basic sturdy pencils such as the Ticonderoga pencils will help the second graders for all of their writing needs. Crayola Crayons are top notch and do not break when they are being used (like other brands). These are top notch pencils and crayons which will help students during writer's workshop, math stations and creating their STEM projects.
Both Ticonderoga pencils and Crayola Crayons will provide my students the necessary tools for them to create quality illustrations using vibrant colors during writers workshop and STEM.
These items are basic tools that are used everyday in our classroom. We write everyday! We create everyday!
For example, we are in the process of creating an engineering design project for the upcoming Milwaukee Public Schools STEM Fair. These crayons, pencils and glue sticks would be great for allowing the students to complete their projects in the best way possible.
