This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
" Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all." My students come from a small town in suburban areas. The students attend a Title I school with less than 500 students in attendance and 100% free or reduced-price lunch. Since we are a smaller school, we are a close-knit family and focus on relationships and community. As a first-year teacher, relationships and trust are important to gain from my students but also allowing them to progress to their full potential.
My students have the motivation to learn and read every chance they can receive.
They continue to want to know more and more. My students thrive off learning things they can apply to their own lives.
My Project
As we prepare for the end of the school year, the planning for the following school year begins. My students will mostly come from low-income households so I do not want the cost of supplies to be a burden on families. All the supplies that are included in my resource list will be of value to my classroom.
The classroom supplies will set up my students for academic and social success.
The notebooks will be used to keep up with writing from guided reading and independent math activities. Students will also make use of scissors, crayons, colored pencils, and markers for crafts and hands-on tasks. These materials will be a great asset to my classroom as it will relieve financial burdens and contribute to the academic success of students.
