My Students

I have a creative group of students. These students have a desire to learn. They love activities and projects. These truly engage them. They strive to do well in school. Many of them have outside jobs and participate in extracurricular activities. Most of the students plan on going to college.

Some of the students will be first in their family to attend college.

Daily, they work on skills that will help them succeed in school and in life. They know they have the community behind them. When they are not working hard in school, they are working in their community. Many even work after school jobs to support their family and community. The school is behind them and is willing to do all that is needed to help them complete their dreams.

My Project

My students are required to read so many novels each semester. To keep track of these, I have started requiring reading journals. The students have grown to love these. They have a huge sense of accomplishment when they finish each novel and see it catalogued. The students are allowed to design each page. They need journals to create these. They need colored pens and colored pencils to write in them. They need markers to illustrate and design these journals. They need glue and scrapbook paper to make them more elaborate. The students also need poster board to use when presenting their journals. We need laminating sheets for bookmarks. These assist the students with reading and writing skills that will help them throughout their lives.
