Help me give my students snacks to eat as they work throughout the day as well has fresh highlighters, dry erase markers, and other basic necessities for the second half of the year.
My students are curious, hard-working, and whimsical. I am grateful to work with fifteen exceptional students who are willing to work hard despite different obstacles that life has thrown at them. Our school is characterized as a "low-income, focus" school. This means that 85% of our students are living below the poverty line as well as not meeting academic state standards.
While there is so much negativity that is associated with a "low-income, focus" school, my exceptional students are capable of reaching their goals when someone takes the time to really hone in on their needs.
All of my students are working hard to reach their monthly goals. My students are coming to school in the middle of a pandemic ready to learn. Although I can't see their smiles through their masks, I can feel their positive energy every time they walk through our door.
My Project
As learners in the twenty-first century, my students have shown improvements in learning by being in settings where physically, they feel a lot more comfortable.
With the items featured in this project, my students will have the opportunity to be exposed to new activities with bright colored paper, expo markers, and highlighters.
The fresh toner will be helpful as it has copying capability. I will be able to copy pages from workbooks and even copy student work for data purposes. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will allow me to access thousands of materials to encourage and motivate my students, all while snacking as we work.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
