This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are incredible children who come to school each day eager to explore their environment and community, despite the challenges of disabilities and language impairments. They arrive with positive attitudes and a strong desire to learn. Many of them are unable to communicate their wants and needs verbally, so they rely on picture symbols. To support their understanding, these symbols must be printed in color, laminated for durability, and displayed throughout the classroom for easy reference.
To help my students thrive, we are requesting essential resources that will create a clean, organized, and engaging learning environment.
A book stand will provide my students with easy access to books, encouraging them to build new vocabulary and expand their communication skills. An easel will support interactive lessons and the introduction of new words in a visual, meaningful way. A supply cart will help keep materials organized and accessible for both students and teachers, while cleaning supplies will ensure a safe and comfortable classroom environment for everyone.
With these resources like book stand, easel, supply cart, laminator, cleaning supplies, and other basic materials, my students will have the tools they need to strengthen their communication, expand their learning, and continue to approach each day with excitement and confidence.
