This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Students

I teach 32 wonderful 5th graders in Salinas, California.

The poverty level in this area is very high. Our school is a Title I school, and many of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Although many of the students live in impoverished conditions, they come to school ready to learn.

My Project

These writing resources will help me teach my students the writing process. using the step-up to writing strategies, which require different color highlighters and the dry-erase boards to model writing. The TPT will be used for purchasing writing posters and example materials for informational text that will entice my students to write.

It is so important for students to learn the process of writing. They will be writing throughout their educational career, and it will prepare them for writing properly when they join the workforce.

Each year, my students struggle with the writing process. These resources will help them learn about the writing process with colors to see the structure more easily. I hope you join me in making a difference in our future writers.
