Our classroom is a family-centered community. The student population in our classroom consists of multiple ethnic backgrounds and learning levels. Students show each other acceptance, understanding and empathy with personal and academic struggles. We work together as a team, but call our team "a family". Many students' families struggle economically to meet the vast financial needs to support additional learning opportunities for their children. Despite the challenges, students and parents communicate continuously asking for additional ideas and materials to assist their children's learning productivity and understanding.
Children setting their own goals and taking responsibility of their learning to meet their goals brings a sense of pride and accomplishment.
Building individual confidence through working towards and mastering goals will boost student academic learning levels; thus, providing a road to success now and in their future.
As their teacher, I am committed to empowering my students to thrive and become their very best.
Our classroom is filled with motivated children eager to learn. As the year progresses many supplies are running low. However, our eagerness to master our learning targets are within reach.
Basic supplies of folders for organization, pencils to document learning progress and markers to give our work a flair are the items to bring excitement to our classroom.
Becoming successful learners also includes seeking ways to keep organized. Basic folders will help do just that. As students work at learning centers, folders will provide them a place to store their work throughout the week before submitting it to the teacher. Pencils seem to have a way to go missing, used up or simply walking away. Pencils are one of the biggest needs as we continue into the second semester in this school year. We love color! Bringing a flair by adding color to our work enhances the excitement of putting a personal touch on completed work.
Providing basic supplies to our classroom will support learning in all subject areas.
