Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! My students will use the notebooks and pencils for creative writing. I plan to hand out 4 different colored folders to keep all student work in. My students will each be given a book bag to keep their leveled reading books in them for easy access. To then take out and read with a reading buddy (the stuffed animals).

By donating to our project, you will not only help improve our classroom with very much needed supplies, but you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement and reinforce wanting to earn rewards for their hard work.

I plan on using the thumbs up and thumbs down boards to check for understanding. Then take those with thumbs down to small group. I will be using the play money and math bingo clock set as part of our math centers to help the students with learning how to count money and tell time. I will also be using the squishes as part of an incentive to motive my students in wanting to earn a class pet to have on their desk for working nicely and quietly on classwork. My goal is to have a great learning space with many helpful supplies and tools to help my students succeed by having the basic needs and making things for them just a bit easier.
