I teach in a diverse setting encouraging high school students to utilize critical thinking to learn about business, finance, government, and the arts. About the school: Our senior high school is located in South Dade (Florida). Students attending this school must apply to one of the three academies: Marine Biology, Career and Technology, or The Humanities. Students in ninth through twelfth grades take rigorous courses such as Advanced Placement, Cambridge and Dual Enrollment (College Courses at Miami-Dade College). Our student population includes various learners such as English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), the Gifted, and Special Needs.

Basic necessities is a project seeking to bring much needed supplies to my classroom. As a teacher directly affected by hurricane Irma, having a donation of school supples would not only be appreciated but will allow my students to think-outside-the box by using art skills to map, graph, and illustrate major themes and concepts based on content-area learning.
Teachers require support from the community to obtain supplies to assist in creating a classroom environment that is conducive for active learning.
By funding this project, you will directly impact the lives of my students who enjoy learning beyond traditional instructional practices such as reading from a textbook and respond to questions.
You donate directly to the teacher or project you care about and see where every dollar you give goes.
