Help me give my students with Autism noise cancelling headphones, a music player, and fun Baby Shark items to help them remain calm and self-regulated while in a noisy cafeteria!
My students are a wonderful group of six students with Autism between the ages of 5-8. My students are all very sweet and eager to learn! The majority of my students come from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds. My students learn best through a variety of modalities - visual, tactile, kinesthetic, and auditory. They show their enthusiasm by actively engaging in activities, as well as through smiling and laughing with enjoyment. My students are learning many functional life skills. The majority of my students are non-verbal. We work hard on facilitating communication skills through modeling, as well as through the use of picture symbols and communication devices. In addition, my students strive to improve their academic skills. Having a well-rounded education is so important!

They strive hard to do their best each day! At times this can be challenging, especially if you are a student who is sensitive to noise!
A cafeteria is a noisy place! At times, the noise level will get overwhelming for some of my students with Autism! Noise cancelling headphones are needed to help my students manage the noise level in the cafeteria. These headphones would help reduce the noise that a student hears, and would help them remain in the cafeteria with their classmates without getting upset.
Another helpful item would be a music player so my students can listen to music instead of hearing the loud sounds in the cafeteria.
Also, some of my students enjoy Baby Shark items. These would help my students remain calm and give them some things to do, such as read the Baby Shark book and press the buttons to hear the sounds. This would provide my students with some much-needed distraction while in a noisy cafeteria!
