Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach Algebra 2 to eleventh graders. The majority of my students come from low-income backgrounds. Our school is in the bottom five percent of the state and we are working to turn it around. My kids deserve an excellent education.

My students are hard-working, inquisitive, dedicated, and when given the right resources are downright brilliant.

Anytime they're presented with a difficult bonus question they'll push themselves and work together to answer it. They are sweet, hilarious, and so, so badly wanting to learn.

My Project

School is in person, but we are out of hand sanitizer, Lysol wipes and tissues students need to stay healthy. We are also out of Expo markers and printer paper for assignments.

We are halfway through the school year and I need help replenishing our basic supplies so we can finish out the year strong.

I am trying to keep my students healthy, happy and engaged in the classroom. The large Expo markers are for board work and the fine point markers are for students to work on mini whiteboards at their desks for a fun way to gauge understanding.
