This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach two classes with 21 students in each. My second graders are in the Dual Immersion program and work hard every day to learn another language (in this case Spanish) and advance their academics at the same time. They are incredible and enthusiastic about learning.

My students come to school happy and eager to grow.

My students are learning the Spanish language. I have a few students who need resource services.

Half of my students spend half of their day in my class learning Spanish, then they go over to their English teacher for the second half of the day. The students who start in her classroom with English come over the second half of the day for Spanish. We share and love our second graders. They get double the love each day.

My Project

We are a brand new school, my students are in need of basic classroom supplies, such as envelopes, scissors, and pencils. The supplies include materials to be able to keep anchor charts in good condition throughout the year as well as other basic items which tend to be in high demand due to the nature and ability of our 2nd graders.

We are also looking ahead to our array unit and are requesting the paper and the way to reuse it as we learn about arrays.
