Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are mostly 9th and 10th graders, transitioning
to high school.
Some are English Language learners, having been in the country only a matter of months. They are a hard-working group.
Although we work in an inner city school, the students are respectful, and try to do what's right. They aim to please, and it is rewarding to see them earn an A or advance to a higher level of ability. Each student is unique in their own way.
My Project
Having a working chair in the classroom will allow me to easily work from my desk for grading, creating lesson plans, and presenting technical information to students. The computer remote with laser will help with changing slides during history lessons and pointing to certain areas in maps during class instruction.
Having these items will fulfill the basic needs of the classroom.
I will no longer be struggling to teach students from only one corner of the classroom in a broken chair. I will be able to interact with students mid-lesson to their benefit. Using technology during lessons will also keep the students more involved.
