My Project

I teach resilient, hardworking English Language Learners in a Title I, low-income community in Brooklyn, New York. We are a diverse community with many different educational needs. Our vision is to rise above educational expectations, to rise to be educational explorers and innovators, to rise to be leaders in life, rise to meet the needs of our families, and to rise to ensure that every child has an opportunity for success!

We are well into second half of our school year and as always, my students have used most of the supplies we had.

Have you ever had a binder which no longer closes? Did you ever want to print something, but there was paper left in the printer? These are just some of the basics that we need to tackle daily assignments.

We are most in need of replenishments of paper, binders, post-its, magnets, etc. Our daily activities require us to use all these supplies, hence these items are needed throughout our school day. It is difficult to expect students to do their best work when they do not have the basics to accomplish their tasks. Additionally, we need some basic small rewards to keep us motivated. I know that this will boost their confidence and self-esteem when they can use quality supplies to do their best work. Students will learn that if they work hard and do their best, they will reap their rewards.
