Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every day in my classroom, I see how small needs can quickly become big distractions for young learners. A loose bandage, smudged glasses, or not having quick access to important medical supplies can take a student’s focus away from learning and place it on discomfort, worry, or frustration.

My students come to school ready to grow, explore, and do their best.

But they are also children, active, curious, and sometimes accident-prone. Minor cuts and scrapes happen. Glasses get dirty and make it harder to see the board or read a book. Some of my students also need access to important medical items, such as inhalers or EpiPens, to safely get through their day.

I am requesting basic first aid materials to help me respond quickly and compassionately to these everyday needs. These items include bandages, lens wipes for students’ glasses, a designated first aid storage container to keep supplies organized and accessible, and small medication bags so students who need inhalers or EpiPens can carry them safely and discreetly throughout the school day.

Having these supplies readily available will allow me to handle small situations immediately, minimizing lost learning time and helping students feel cared for and secure. Something as simple as a clean bandage or clear vision can make a big difference in a child’s ability to stay engaged and confident in the classroom.

More importantly, these materials help create an environment where students know their well-being matters. When students feel safe and supported, they are better able to focus, participate, and take risks in their learning.

Your support will help me meet these everyday needs with dignity, efficiency, and care, so my students can spend less time worrying about discomfort and more time learning, growing, and being kids.
