My Students

My name is Stefanie and I teach some awesome kids in a life skills preschool classroom. My students are faced with many challenges and present severe physical, cognitive and medical needs that affect not only their daily living skills but their ability to access the curriculum. The program is new to the school and due to this, we have very limited resources for this population, as most of my materials and they are more appropriate for their typically developing peers.

My Project

I recently found out that my district is now providing us with a very exciting life skills curriculum for our students. (Yay for not continuously creating email accounts for free trials!) This curriculum includes interactive books that can be either printed out or read out loud on the creator's website.

I would love my students to be able to listen and watch these stories and access an adapted curriculum to better meet their needs and individualized educational goals.

A smart TV and all the necessary accessories will not only read these stories out loud, but it will allow my students to answer WH questions about the story, and complete other follow up activities by receptively making choices on a large screen.
