Balls Are Made For Bouncing....Not Wearing On Our Heads!
My students need hula hoops and a ball inflator.
This project expired on June 24, 2010.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I teach 2 classes of Kindergarten. Most of my students come from lower income families. Our school is currently unable to fund materials for recess for the Kindergarten classes.
The balls that we have to play with are FLAT! The kids still try to play with them. It is really disheartening to watch a group of Kindergarten students kicking basketballs because they won't bounce anymore. I have one student that will go around and wear one of the balls as a hat because it is so flat. The hula hoops we do have are cheap and bent. The kids can't learn to hula hoop with them because they just fall off of their waists.
We need a way to pump up the Kindergarten balls. The automatic pump is nice because it will be convenient for all the Kindergarten classes to use it. Also, Field Day is coming up in May and we will need new hula hoops to play the different games.
You can make it possible for my students to learn that balls can bounce when they have air in them. Your help will also ensure my students are able to work on their hand and eye coordination.
