My Students

I am the reading interventionist (50%) and advanced learning (50%) teacher next year. I will be working with students who don't fit perfectly in the regular classroom setting because they are academically too low or too high. These students are often disengaged in learning and frustrated by the whole school experience because it does not meet their needs.

It is important that all learners have a space that fits their individual needs and empowers them to do their best.

Advanced learners often need an additional space to go to when they finish work early and are left unchallenged or responsible for helping others. Dependent learners can feel intimidated in their homerooms where it seems the work is so much easier for everyone else.

My Project

The students I work with come from other classrooms. I need a space that is inviting, bright, and keeps them engaged. My students are either above or below grade level and sometimes need their own space for deeper learning.

Balance ball chairs help students stay engaged in learning.

They also support healthy development and they work their core! Students enjoy sitting in them during special times and look forward to using them. I want their experience in my room to be a positive one, since they are not in their classroom. Please help make this possible! Thank you so much!
