Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kindergarten students are curious, creative, and full of joy. They come to school each day eager to learn, explore, and grow. Throughout the year, they have worked hard to build foundational skills in reading, writing, math, and social-emotional learning. One of the most meaningful parts of our classroom community is the partnership we share with their families, whose support has helped our students thrive.

As we prepare to celebrate kindergarten graduation, I want to give my students the opportunity to create homemade desserts as a special thank-you gift for their parents and caregivers.

Baking is a hands-on learning experience that helps young children practice important academic and life skills such as measuring, counting, sequencing, following directions, and problem-solving. These activities also strengthen fine motor skills and teamwork while making learning fun and meaningful.

The baking supplies in this project, including cupcake molds, baking sheets, pie pans, mixing tools, and strainers, will allow students to safely and successfully prepare desserts together in the classroom. The gift bags, tissue paper, and ribbons will help students package their treats with care, giving them pride in presenting something they made with love. Decorations for our graduation celebration will help create a joyful environment where students and families can come together to celebrate this important milestone.

With your support, my students will not only learn valuable hands-on skills, but they will also experience the joy of giving back to the families who have encouraged them every step of the way.
