My Project
We are planning to have one heck of a class auction at the end of the year. These 32 kids have worked hard all year and all 32 are reading at 98% accuracy or more now. Just a few have a little work to do to improve reading speeds.
Our class auction and EOY literacy celebration will be epic.
We already have many great items donated. What we are lacking is quality books for the kids to buy with their dojo points.
I have attempted to fundraise for a larger amount of items, but it is not doing so great yet, so this is our backup plan, so that we hopefully have our books available. All year, the earning and retention of points has been an ongoing lesson in budgeting and financial literacy. Some kids have learned that ten points for a Tootsie Roll or 30 for Cheetos may not be so great if 100 can buy a $25 prize.
