My Project

Our preschool classes include three to five-year-olds who have special needs such as developmental delay, autism, and other health impairments. My students and their families are from diverse cultures and language backgrounds, and many are also of a disadvantaged socioeconomic status.

The proper children's lunch box, backpack, and water bottle would provide an opportunity for them to practice basic daily living skills.

I have been doing this project for the past two years and it's been super helpful and beneficial for the children, family and teachers. I was able to give out backpacks, lunch boxes, or water bottles to my new students. And immediately, their food and water was organized and I could start to work on their arrival routine, packing, and unpacking skills right away.

Most of my students are coming to the school for the first time and I would love to provide the best first-school experience for them as much as possible. They would be excited to carry a cute and proper preschooler backpack! Most of my students with special needs also have a very limited diet and only eat very specific food so the family usually sends home food to school. The lunch box will help the family put all the food and water bottles in one place and the student can practice taking the lunch box out during arrival and bringing their lunch box to the table during mealtime.
