Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The school closure vastly limited field trip opportunities, but with this school year, we can finally take trips! Outdoor education is important. Never before have students been restricted and isolated like they are now. So it's good to get back outside!

The gear needed here will help bolster the camping and hiking resources of our Sierra Nevada class and Environmental Science Academy.

Outside and nature is sorely needed by students during this time of uncertainty. This gear will be used on a future trip camping at Mono Lake where they will learn about the geology of the region. We will use our new packs to hike around the vast landscape of the basin on a backpacking excursion.

Your donation will help provide the essentials kids need to experience the mountains and the freedom of being outside. This much-needed gear will change many students' lives post-pandemic school closure. Thank you!
