This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a very low-income area in Springfield, MA. Our school is a Level 3 school in need of further resources regularly. I teach an abundance of ELL students who need very hands-on language experiences. All students receive free lunch and breakfast each day. Despite many hardships, students come eager to learn and grow each day. I would like to give them the tools they need to succeed every day. With such diverse backgrounds, a classroom is a place where all of my students can feel at home.

My Project

After almost a year of remote learning for most students, this school year is finally a chance for my students to get back to normalcy at school. Since we are going to be fully back in school, students will need notebooks, folders and writing tools to organize their daily materials in class. Providing students with these materials will put them at ease with this challenging transition.

The fidget tools and play doh will allow students to take brain breaks during the school day when needed.

Additionally, the white boards will give students the opportunity to show their thinking during small group reading and math.
