This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am lucky enough to work with a fantastic group of third graders in Boston, MA. Our classroom is a self-contained, Sheltered English Immersion room where we cover both grade level content and English language. Often referred to as the Mini UN, my students are representative of seven countries and eight languages from around the world; all of them are students of color, English language learners and receive free school lunch.

These students work at school and at home to become well-rounded writers, readers, mathematicians, and scientists!

We cover content that allows students to explore and interact with new content and language in a way that is student-led.

My Project

Since September my students have been working hard and learning a lot! We have covered personal narrative and compare/contrast writing, we've read three whole class chapter books and countless read alouds, all have powered through five math units, completed three group projects, and plenty more!

It takes a lot of materials to do all this learning and now that we are nearly halfway through the year, we need a refresh in supplies!

Help us to finish the year strong with more pencils, glue sticks, paintbrushes, anchor chart paper, scissors, and more! We are so excited to keep learning and hope that you can help us do so.
