This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I LOVE my students and it is my pleasure to teach and know them! My students are from an inner city 100% African American neighborhood. Most of my students are from low socioeconomic households with a single parent. The majority of my students do not have the opportunities other kids their ages do. Where they come from does NOT limit their potential. My students LOVE coming to school. They are intelligent, creative, talented, beautiful little minds that inspire me daily!
My Project
My students are in need of basic school supplies, such as pencils, notebooks, crayons, glue... It makes it so difficult to teach when students do no have any supplies.
Most of my students' families are unable to afford school supplies.
My school gives us enough to start the year, and then I have to try my best to pick up some each month from my own pocket. It would be so beneficial to every project and lesson we learn this year to have the basic supplies for EVERY student to use. I"m serious my students would be so excited to just have pencils with erasers!!!
Any supplies given would be greatly appreciated. I just want my students to have the same opportunities as everyone else.
