This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One thing I love about my students is that they take pride in the learning environment that we have created together. It is a clean and organized space. I have provided each of them with their own binders and binder dividers thanks to the help and generosity of Donorschoose.

Many of my students have limited access to classroom supplies from their household, so I like to create a "classroom store" with basics that they can earn through their actions in my class.

This project "Back To The Basics" is rooted in equity and would allow all my students to have access to some necessary classroom supplies that they need on a daily basis. I have used this strategy in the past, and my students are very proud to have access to brand new school supplies.
